Yorktown Water Main Break Affects Large Portion Of Yorktown

Residents in Yorktown received an early, and unwanted, early Christmas-time surprise on Monday morning.

Yorktown residents may experience reduced pressure and discolored water in their taps as crews attempt to locate a water main break.

The Yorktown Police Department released an alert at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve, cautioning that the Water Department is attempting to locate a water main break in town.

Police said that the break has “affected a large portion of Yorktown,” it was unclear how many local residents were impacted.

 “We will update the status on the break as information becomes available,” officials said. The break has led to low water pressure and discolored water in certain parts of town. No restoration date has been announced.
